It was the first day of school. I wondered who my bus driver is. Mr. Yellow is supposed to be a real lion. I sit in my chair and suddenly the bus driver crawls in. He has sharp teeth and thin, puffy hair. He leaves fur wherever he crawls. João Bosco, Savannah and Victor Hugo are screaming in the back. Mr. Yellow stopped the bus, tied them to a giant rocket and sent them into outer space. Jason and Michael were karete fightinh on the bus. Mr. Yellow used them in a sandwich and gobbled it all up. Suddenly, the door opens and Mr. Yellow walks in. He looks really nice and gentle. His clothes are nice. And everyday Mr. Yellow gives out mangos.

Teach us Amelia Bedelia, by Peggy Parish

My favorite part of the book is when she makes the children plant light bulbes instead of onion bulbes (Savannah Hall - 2nd); when they plant light bulbes (João Bosco Lucena - 2nd); when they practice the play (Victor Hugo Gomes 2nd).

I like this part because it is funny and very silly (Savannah Hall - 2nd); they plant light bulbes and they have to plant onion bulbes (João Bosco Lucena - 2nd); they have to practice a play not practice how to play (Victor Hugo Gomes 2nd).

The main character reminds me of Junie B. Jones because she understand things wrongly (Savannah Hall - 2nd); my brother because he does thing when my mom or dad tell him not do it (João Bosco Lucena - 2nd); Garfield because he is funny (Victor Hugo Gomes 2nd).

I think the author is good at writting very silly and funny books (Savannah Hall - 2nd); doing funny stories (João Bosco Lucena - 2nd); writting funny stories (Victor Hugo Gomes 2nd).

Millions and millions of years ago, strange creatures lived in the world. There were dinosaures, crocodiles, turtles, leopard, whale, wolves, blue sharks, white sharks and others. There are many kind of sharks in the ocean: basking shark, blue shark, hammerhead shark, white shark, whale shark, etc. The most dangerous shark is the great white shark. Most fish lay eggs but most sharks do not. The white shark has just had a bunch of babies that had to go away as soon as they were born. They coudn´t stay there because mom would eat them. They had to look for their own food.
What to sharks eat? Do sharks eat people?

Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg

An afternoon, Judy and Peter were left alone by their parents at home . They were bored and decided to play in a park. There, they found a game box named "Jumanji" which is a jungle adventure game. They got excited and went back home to play the game. First, they read the instructions and found out that once you started to play the game, you could not be over until you reach the golden city of Jumanji. Peter started to play and shook the dice. He got number seven and, suddenly, a lion appeared. They got scared, but continued to play the game although other strange things would be happening - several monkey got there; a snake appeared; a volcano started to shake. They had to reach the gold city and kept going until they got there. When they did, everything went back to normal. Their parents arrived just in time.

Polar Bears Past Bedtime by Mary Pope Osborne

Jack and Annie went to the frozen Artic but didn´t have proper clothes to wear. Luckily, they met a seal hunter who gave them coats, mittens and boots. The seal hunter had a dogsled with huskies. Annie and Jack thought they were wolves. So, they went to an igloo where the seal hunter told them stories about Polar bears and gave them two riddles. Later, when they were playing on the snowbank, they saw two bear cubs. Jack and Annie stayed there with the bears but suddenly they heard a crack and found out they were on a thin ice. Just then, there was another sound. It was the mother bear who had just arrived. Annie and Jack put bear masks to pretend they were Polar Bears and be able to go back to the igloo. Before they return to the magic tree house, they remembered about the riddles. One of them is: "Look at the letters: the first not the rest. Discover the place, that you love the best." Read the book to find the answer. (Isabela Lima-4th grade)
